Mayoral support drops 25%

A poll carried out on The Didymian web site (thedidymian.com) asking visitors if they supported and liked the mayor, completed last Thursday. Related to the poll results, 61% of Brits support Mumin Kamaci as the Mayor of Didim.
The poll started last May on the website, and some 520 votes were cast during this period. At the start, the mayor Mumin Kamaci enjoyed a resounding 86% support of pollsters during the months of May, June and July. Support for the Mayor had started to decrease due to the stray dog problem in Didim. Although officially, the stray dog loss isn’t carried out by the Didim Council, most of the pollsters believed Didim Council were the organisation behind the dogs being killed or taken out of the area. This reduced votes of the mayor by a whopping 25% in the space of 1 month. 
In a statement to The Didymian, the Mayor, Mumin Kamaci said; “Although the British residents are not entitled to vote here, they are part of the city. It is also important for us to make them happy and comfortable. I still don’t understand why people blame us for the stray dogs. We are working closely with the Didim Friends of Animals. We are giving our full support to them. I wonder who is blaming us. They must prove this before finding us guilty. Everybody will see the reality soon and then they will understand that this is purely a misunderstanding”.
He continued by saying, “86% is a great level of support for us. I know that when residents see the reality, we will have this amount of support again. I also want to thank The Didymian for conducting this poll.”
The next poll of The Didymian will start on Monday. At the suggestion of our readers we will conduct the poll about stray dogs. One of The Didymian readers, Mr. Peter Walker, is posing this question to our readers; “Do you agree that stray dogs are a nuisance and spoil the resort image with tourists?” The poll will continue until the end of September.
